Since making her acting debut in 2012 with Karan Johar’s Student of the Year, Alia Bhatt’s career has gone from strength to strength with every film. Over the past decades, he has played various characters, which not only earned him National Film Awards but also brought significant change. During a chat, she said that during the shooting of the 2016 film Udta Punjab, she became physically and emotionally isolated from the rest of the world.
A few days ago, Alia Bhatt sat down for a chat with IMDb for its Icons Only segment. As he expressed his love for food, sleep and his daughter Rah Kapoor, he also talked about the influences of his characters on his personality. The global sensation said that her character in Udta Punjab made her very uncomfortable. This was the first and only film he worked on. The actress said, “At the time I was shooting the film, I was really physically shut off from the rest of the world, emotionally shut off as well.”
Furthermore, he talked about the 2014 film Highway, where he experienced a significant change in his personality. Backing up her statement with reasons, she said that it probably happened because she was on the road away from home for so long. “The first time I really had that experience, it was like going to college, only my college was a film set,” the Gully Boy actress revealed.
Lastly, she talked about being a part of the 2022 film Gangubai Kathiawadi, which won her the National Award for Best Actress. Sharing her experience working on it, Bhatt admitted that after leaving the set she was not the same actress as before and it was because of the experience. Additionally, he also praised filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali and said that an actor can never be the same after being directed by him.
Meanwhile, on the work front, she will next be seen in her upcoming YRF spy universe film Alpha. Directed by Shiv Rawail and produced by Aditya Chopra, it also stars Munjya actress Sharvari in the lead role.
