Alia Bhatt says motherhood has changed the way she chooses films
Alia Bhatt discusses how motherhood has changed her approach towards work as she prepares for the release of two high-profile films, Alpha and Love & War, in 2026.

Highlighting the change in her approach towards work since welcoming her daughter Raha in November 2022, Alia Bhatt has provided insight into the ways motherhood has affected her career choices. The actor, who is set to appear in two major films in 2026, elaborated on his shift to a more deliberate work schedule as well as his continued dedication to meaningful projects.
In a recent interview, Bhatt opened up about how becoming a mother has affected her professional commitments. She said, “Of course, the quantity and pace at which I work now is different because I have a child. But it is a comfortable pace and I am happy with it. I like to do one film at a time and give it my full energy. Earlier I used to do two or three films at a time, but now I don’t want to do that.”
Bhatt’s upcoming projects include AlphaDirected by Shiv Rawail, where she plays an action-centric role. The film, part of the YRF spy universe, also stars Sharvari and Bobby Deol and is scheduled for theatrical release in 2026.
She will also be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film love and warCo-starring Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal. The film is currently under production and is scheduled to release in 2026, marking another important entry in his filmography.
Addressing her experience of doing action sequences after childbirth, Bhatt commented, “Doing action after childbirth was very interesting because it gave me a chance to see what my body is capable of. It was such a learning experience, and it gave me a lot of respect for my body.”
The actor has often discussed his daughter’s personality and their family dynamics. In an interview with Allure magazine, she described Raha as “naughty and talkative”, noting that her daughter displays both bright and shy moments.
Bhatt’s father, filmmaker Mukesh Bhatt, has shared that the actor often brings Raha to work, where the child reportedly has her own vanity van. This arrangement reflects Bhatt’s commitment to balancing his professional obligations and family life.
