Actor Ali Fazal credited the film ‘3 Idiots’ for his success in an exclusive interview. The actor shared an anecdote related to the film.

Ali Fazal is enjoying the success of his latest series ‘Mirzapur 3’ and he has credited his success to ‘3 Idiots’. The actor, who played the role of Joy Lobo in Rajkumar Hirani’s film, shared a special anecdote related to the film.
In an exclusive interview with IndiaToday.in, Ali recalled how he secretly recorded the popular song ‘Give Me Sunshine’ from the popular film. Crediting ‘3 Idiots’ for his success, the actor said, “I am grateful to ‘3 Idiots’. One thing I can share is that I secretly had a small Nokia phone at that time. I went to Raju sir’s office because someone from his team had seen me in a play and wanted me to meet him. I am so grateful that I took my phone with me that day and secretly recorded the song ‘Give Me Some Sunshine’. I felt really bad that this was wrong and I shouldn’t have done it(I felt bad that it was not good. And I shouldn’t have done that). Then I kept listening to that song in local trains so that I could learn it.”
The actor further added, “I was scared because I had told sir with confidence that I can play the guitar too. And the funny thing is that I didn’t know how to play the guitar. Then I learned to play the guitar and listened to songs for hours and hours and days before that shoot. So I came to the set fully prepared. But I am very grateful to Vidhu (Vidhu Vinod Chopra) and Raju sir (Rajkumar Hirani), but more so to Vidhu sir because technically he was my first break and I hope I can work with him again.”
In the same interview, Ali also talked about ‘Mirzapur 4’ and said, “I don’t know. I think it’s a puppet show. There should be demand and we should be ready. It will take time. It can happen. I think they are planning to write.”
‘Mirzapur 3’, starring Pankaj Tripathi, Rasika Duggal and Shweta Tripathi, begins streaming on Prime Video on July 5.
