According to sources close to the production of the film, Akshaye Khanna has officially joined the artists of Mahakali, the upcoming installment in Prasath Verma Cinematic Universe (PVCU).

While details about his role are being kept in wrapped, internal sources confirmed that Khanna would play an important role in the growing superhero franchise. A source said, “We can tell all that his role will add conspiracy and depth to the growing PVCU universe. His role will spread in many films and prove to be an exciting addition. We are hoping that Mahakali has also received.”

The film, which will be third in the superhero universe inspired by mythology after Hanuman and upcoming Jai Hanuman, is still in the pre-production phase. Director Pooja Aparna Kalluru and producer Prasanth Verma are currently finalizing artists and other important elements.

The source said, “The cosmetics are particularly about to cast a certain female superhero with whom he wants to cast it prominently, and it requires a definite attraction challenging the beauty standards. Hopefully all the details will be excluded, and the film will be officially rolled out,” said the source.

Mahakali is inspired by the terrible goddess Kali, part of an ambitious slate, starring Dashari Kalyan as a character based on Lord Indra in the serial, and is a current-uproid project to be characterized by Mokashan Teja. The franchise was launched with the success of Hanuman under the leadership of Teja Sajja, and its much awaited sequel Jai Hanuman, which has Rish Shetty, is already in work.
