Popular romantic film ‘Dhadkan’, starring Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty and Shilpa Shetty, is set to re -release theaters on 23 May. The film originally surfaced on 11 August 2000, and is now being brought back as part of a special festival of iconic Bollywood films.
Directed by Dharmesh Darshan, ‘Dhadakan’ is a love story full of emotion, drama and heartbreak. Shilpa Shetty played the role of Anjali, who is a woman who loves the deity. But his family forces him to marry Ram, who was played by a kind and successful person Akshay Kumar. Years later, Dev returned to his life, but until then, Anjali has started loving her husband. The story becomes a complex love triangle that touched the hearts of many when released for the first time.
‘Dhadakan’ was a big hit at the box office, which grossed Rs 26 crore worldwide. Its music was a major attraction, with an unforgettable song composed by Nadem -Sharavan and songs by Sameer. Soundtrack became the second best selling album of 2000, which was just after ‘Mohabbantin’. Songs like ‘Dil Ne Yeha Hai Dil Se’ and ‘Tum Dil Ki Dhadkan Mein’ still fall in love today.
Now, the film will return to theaters in digitally reminded format, which will make the looks even better. Re-reliefs will be in selected theaters across India.
Along with the main lead, ‘Dhadakan’ also included experienced actors like Sharmila Tagore, Parmeet Sethi, Kiran Kumar, Sushma Seth and Manjeet Kuller, who added depth to the emotional story.
On the work front, Sunil Shetty was last seen with Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor in Netflix’s romantic-comedy ‘Nadaniyan’. He will next appear in the action film ‘Kesari Veer’, along with Soraj Pancholi and Vivek Oberoi. Akshay Kumar recently acted in ‘Kesari: Chapter 2’ and will soon be seen in the horror-comedy ‘Bhut Bungalow’ with Vamik-Gabbi, Tabu and Paresh Rawal.
