Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgan say ‘unity is lacking in Bollywood’: South celebs stand together
Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgan compared the dynamics of Bollywood to the South Indian film industry and mentioned that in the South, people live together. Akshay said that there is a lack of ‘respect’ in Bollywood too.

Actors Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgan talked about standing together and helping each other in the film industry. At a recent event, both the action superstars made a comparison between the way the Mumbai film industry and the South Indian film industry works.

When asked if there is more unity in the Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam film industries than Bollywood, Ajay said, “That’s what I think and I keep discussing. It’s not about opening , which is a different story altogether, a lot of things come into play. But I really appreciate how they (people from Southern Industries) stand up for each other as an industry, Honestly, this is lacking in the Mumbai film industry.”
He also mentioned his contemporaries and said that at least they support each other when needed, but that is not the case with the younger generation. Ajay talked about the stars of the 90s who are still relevant today and said, “As far as we are concerned, 4-5 of us who started together in the 90s – me, Akshay , Shahrukh, Salman, Aamir and others – we are not in any kind of conflict or conflict, and we all know that you will never see any conflict between us.”
Akshay agreed and concluded that not only Ekta, but also the industry lacks ‘respect’ today. “There is a lack of unity, there is a lack of respect and that is a big thing,” he shared.
Both Akshay and Ajay were recently seen together in Rohit Shetty’s film Singham Again. The film is currently running in theaters and features the duo playing cops, which is part of Shetty’s cop-poem.
