Akashmalo Oka Tara is an upcoming Telugu-language adventure drama film starring Dulquer Salmaan in the lead role. The makers have now released the first look of Shruti Haasan from the film as she celebrates her 40th birthday.

The makers of Aakashmalo Oka Tara wrote on their social media handle, “A pioneer in every sense of the word… Team Aakashmalo Oka Tara wishes Shruti Haasan a very happy birthday. And meet a character who stands her ground and holds her ground.”

Although more details about the film have not been revealed yet, it is said that Akashmalo Oka Tara has completed about 80 percent of its shooting. The film is touted to be an adventure drama and will be released in multiple languages including Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi.
Earlier, the makers had unveiled a glimpse of Dulquer Salmaan, which showed him as a young man on a train journey, finding new hope and a path towards a destination.
The team also released the first look of debutant Sathvika Veeravalli playing the lead role in the film. The glimpse featured a remote village with limited infrastructure, depicting a sense of aspiration through her character’s dream of reaching the stars.
Now, Shruti Haasan has also been confirmed to play an important role in the film. GV Prakash Kumar has been chosen to compose the songs and background score, marking the reunion with Dulquer Salmaan after their blockbuster collaboration, Lucky Baskar. The film was initially announced as a Summer 2026 release, but the official release update is still awaited.
Shruti Haasan’s work front
Shruti Haasan was last seen in a pivotal role in the film Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The Rajinikanth starrer features her in the role of Preeti, a character who plays an integral role in the actor’s story.
Apart from Rajinikanth and Haasan, the film also stars Nagarjuna Akkineni, Upendra Rao, Soubin Shahir and many others in important roles. Additionally, Aamir Khan made a cameo appearance in the film.
Looking ahead, the actress will next be seen in Vijay Sethupathi’s long-delayed film Train, directed by Mysskin.
Dulquer Salmaan’s next film
After the period drama Kantha, Dulquer Salmaan is currently shooting for his Malayalam film, I Am Game. Directed by Nahas Hidayat, the high-stakes action thriller is scheduled for Onam release this year.
