India’s major telecom operators, including Airtel, recently announced price hikes on prepaid and postpaid plans in an effort to increase average revenue per user (ARPU). The company increased prices by about 20 percent and restricted access to 5G data only to plans offering 2GB or more daily data. However, to help users with low data plans, the company has now announced new data booster packs, which will enable these users to access 5G data services.

Airtel’s new booster packs are now available for Rs 51, Rs 101, and Rs 151. These packs offer additional data allowance of 3GB, 6GB, and 9GB respectively, which can be added to the existing 1GB or 1.5GB daily data plan. These booster plans will allow users to top up their existing plans and avail unlimited 5G data for the remaining validity period of their current plan. According to Airtel, its new booster packs will allow users to continue their daily activities like work, study, and entertainment without any interruption while experiencing the high-speed 5G network.

Airtel Data Booster Plans:

– 3 GB additional data will be available in the Rs 51 booster pack.
– 6 GB additional data will be available in the Rs 101 booster pack.
– 9 GB additional data will be available in the Rs 151 booster pack.

Apart from these booster packs, Airtel also offers some affordable 5G data plans starting at Rs 249, which offer a range of benefits to suit the needs of different users. The most affordable 5G plan for postpaid customers is priced at Rs 449.

Earlier, Airtel’s competitor Reliance Jio also introduced three new 5G data booster plans designed for users on prepaid plans offering 1GB or 1.5GB daily mobile data. Priced at Rs 51, Rs 101, and Rs 151, these plans are listed under the True Unlimited Upgrades section on the Jio website and are valid for the same period as the user’s existing active plans. Notably, these booster plans are incompatible with the Rs 479 and Rs 1,899 prepaid plans.

The Rs 51 plan offers 3GB of 4G mobile data, while the Rs 101 and Rs 151 plans offer 6GB and 9GB of 4G data respectively, along with unlimited 5G data. In areas with limited 5G connectivity, the plans start consuming from the user’s 4G data quota. Jio has also ensured that these new 5G data booster plans are accessible and convenient to buy. They can be purchased from the Jio website, My Jio app, nearest Jio store or UPI-based apps like Google Pay, Amazon Pay, PhonePe and PayTM.
