Airtel network is facing massive outage affecting thousands of users. The outage has affected both Airtel mobile and broadband users, leaving them unable to make calls or access the internet. According to DownDetector, complaints of network outage increased around 10.30 am today. Many Airtel users have also taken to X (formerly Twitter) to report the outage. Many users have also reported that their device running on Airtel SIM went to ‘No Network’ for a long time.

The outage caused significant disruption, especially for mobile internet users, who accounted for 40 percent of complaints. Almost the same percentage reported a complete blackout of Airtel services, while 22 percent cited total lack of signal. These issues span multiple cities, pointing to a broader problem.

Airtel has a significant presence in the Indian telecommunications market. As of October 2024, the company claimed a huge user base of 385.41 million, capturing 33.5 percent market share. Notably, its 5G user base alone is set to reach 90 million by the end of the first quarter of the 2024-25 financial year. These figures highlight the far-reaching impact an outage of this scale can have on millions of users.
