In short

  • Dale is putting a big bet on “AI PC”
  • It is also making a significant change in its branding
  • India is adopting AI innovation quickly, it says

Dell Technologies “AI PC” is making big bets, designed to fundaly to a new generation of a new generation tools designed to change a new generation of devices how users interact with their computer. According to the Dale vice -president for consumer PC and OS products Jason Derst, it marks “a jump forward” in terms of change, performance, battery life and overall user experience.

The company recently launched a new lineup with PCS-Dale 14 Plus, Dell 14 2-in-1 Plus, and Dell 16 Plus as well as Alienware 16 Area-51, Alienware 18 Area-51, and Alienware 16X Aurora, and under a simplified branding structure, under a main piece of technology, built around a main piece of technology: nervous processing unit (NPU). It is working with special processors, traditional CPUs and GPU, at the center of the new AI-managed computing experience.

Derst said in an interview with India Today Tech, “AI PC is the central-stone of how you have a truly high-speed attractive, responsible, interactive device.” He said that NPU is a “success” piece of technology that handles complex AI functions with incredible energy efficiency, unlocking a new level of capacity.

A new era of performance and efficiency?

According to Derst, the new AI PC is the culmination of a large -scale effort to balance the power and efficiency. He highlighted the remarkable battery life, claiming that Dell’s labs have tested the equipment, which “has been more than 12 hours in terms of standardized use of everyday use.”

Beyond the impressive endurance, Derst emphasized the raw power of the new chips. He explained, “The multi-threaded, single-threaded capacity of these chips is another jump where they used to be,” he explained. The integrated graphics engine, he said, is also a major step ahead, which enables users to “creator-class workload as well as gaming workloads.” This means that a thin and light laptop is now able to run the theoretically popular game, which is an achievement reserved for the first more powerful, dedicated gaming rigs.

AI PC, Derst explained, not only about sharp performance; This is a new way to engage with the operating system. He pointed to new features in Windows 11, which allows users to “ask their PCs to ask that you were looking at the past and finds it. This (historical) is recently from the level of discovery.”

This, he said, it is just the beginning. NPU will also enable a series of software enhancement, automatically extending photos to a future where PC acts as a personal “agent”, learning and interacts with the user in a comfortable way. Derst said, “I am incredibly excited about the pieces I can see in the following year,” AI PC is required to unlock these new features.

Asked if it represents the second largest innings for the PC, Derst was cautious but optimistic. “This is really high bar because I think the PC dramatically changed work for each of us,” he said. “The way you are going to use PC, it is clearly changing in advance, and I don’t see that slow.”

Equalize the purchase experience

With technological innovations, Dell is also making a significant change in its branding to address a major consumer pain point: confusion during the purchase process. According to Dell’s senior vice president for the global consumer retail and outlet business Rosundra Silvira, a Deloite study found that about 74 percent of buyers are disappointed while trying to find out which PCs to buy.

To combat this, Dale is simplifying its consumer lineup at a new, tiered naming conference. The new names are designed as “an easy way for the right technique for you”, Derst explained. The new structure will feature a core “del” lineup for home, work and sports, with premium and performance-focused levels.

Derst said, “What you are seeing was done through a multier engagement. A lot of studies behind it work directly with customers.” He said that cute brands such as XPS and Inspiron would be present under new names, “Dell Premium” line and Inspiron products will be aligned with new “del plus” and “del” tier with XPS products. This is about making the journey of purchasing changes more customer-focused and less confusing.

India: A strategic and growing market

Dale’s commitment to innovation and customer experience is particularly clear in India, which Dell sees as a strategic and growing market. Silvira highlighted the role of the country’s technology rapidly and its role as a leader in digital transactions. He said that with the use of 1.5 billion PCs globally, and 30 percent of them is three or more years old, a significant fresh cycle is adjacent, and many of those old PCs are in India.

The end of life for Windows 10 is a major driver of this refresh, as many of those old machines are not eligible to run Windows 11. “When you add all this, how this market is quickly adopting AI innovation,” Silvira said, “India is not just a strategic market, but it is more than that.”

Dell’s widespread presence in India with over 6,000 stores in 400 cities is a will for its commitment. The company has been constructing locally for 18 years and is the largest Dale workforce outside the US, a task force that supports both local and global activities.

He said, “We have a very flexible and diverse supply chain network, and we are constantly assessing opportunities to expand, where it makes sense,” he said about global business uncertainty that is bound by American tariffs.

Silvira also talked about the unique nature of the Indian consumer, which he described as “technology-loving” and saw technology as a major investment. He said that Indian consumers are very conscious about their purchase, often do research for about 60 days and go between online and offline channels for seven times before taking decisions. Dale’s portfolio, he said, designed for “future-proof”, which offers today’s needs and solutions to AI workloads that will be necessary in the coming years.

The future of PC, Derst and Silvira agrees, bright. “The level and requirement and value of this technique is only increasing,” Derst said. “It is one of the most productive devices invented by mankind, and it continues to expand and ability and people who need it.”
