Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, starring Yash in the lead role, is scheduled to release on March 19, 2026, coinciding with Holi, Ugadi and Eid this year. Ahead of the theatrical release, the makers unveiled the introduction video of the KGF star as Raya, which garnered mixed reactions online.

Amid the online conversation, the film’s director Geetu Mohandas reacted to the criticism with a joint post with actress Reema Kallingal.

In a recent social media post, Reema Kallingal and Geetu Mohandas shared a message that emphasized that people don’t mind when they continue to explore different aspects related to women.

The post read, “People get chills when they think about female pleasure, consent, the way women play, etc.”

For those unaware, Yash-starrer Toxic Jhalak was recently unveiled, introducing the rocking star’s character, Raya. The content shown in the preview contained sensitive elements, which generated a significant discussion online, particularly due to alleged links to Geetu’s earlier statements during previous press conferences.

Earlier, the makers had unveiled the first look of the film’s lead actresses, including Kiara Advani as Nadia, Nayanthara as Ganga, Tara Sutaria as Rebecca, Rukmini Vasanth as Melissa and Huma Qureshi as Elizabeth.

Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups is a period action thriller co-written and directed by Geetu Mohandas. Apart from Yash and the above actresses, the film also stars Akshay Oberoi, Sudev Nair, Amit Tiwari and many others in important roles.

The film has been shot simultaneously in Kannada and English and will be released in six Indian languages ​​including Hindi, Malayalam, Telugu and Tamil.

The film’s music and background score is composed by Ravi Basrur, while John Wick action director JJ Perry choreographed some of the action sequences, with the Anbariyan duo handling select action portions.

Looking ahead, Yash is also set to play the role of Ravana in the upcoming Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Ramayan.
