Billionaire Elon Musk today interviewed former US President Donald Trump on his social media platform X (formerly Twitter). The interview had a volatile start and was delayed by 40 minutes after the Tesla chief announced that his social media platform had been cyber-attacked. The two businessmen discussed a range of topics including immigration, layoffs, the assassination attempt on Mr Trump and climate change ahead of the US elections. Meanwhile, Mr Musk has now invited US Vice President Kamala Harris for a chat on Xspace.
“I was also happy to host Kamala on Xspaces,” he wrote on the microblogging platform.

Her post has been garnering varied reactions online since it was shared.
The Trump campaign responded to the post with a folded hands emoji.
One man joked, “The chances of him coming are about as good as my meeting Abraham Lincoln tomorrow morning.”
One person said, “It would actually be a very smart move for them to do this. It’s a much simpler process than holding a rally, and has a much greater potential impact. I’m sure you would be a fair interviewer.”
One user said, “Free speech! @VP should 100% do this. The American people deserve to hear your thoughts on these issues!”
Meanwhile, the Republican candidate criticised Ms Harris, saying, “The number of illegals Kamala (Harris) has welcomed into our communities is more than we thought possible.” He told Elon Musk, “Countries are emptying their prisons – and sending them into our country. They’re bringing crime and violence into our backyard,” he said.
In a separate comment, he also said that if she wins the 2024 US election, the country will “go out of business”. Donald Trump said, “We have no president right now – and Kamala is even worse. She’s a liberal from San Francisco who destroyed that city, destroyed California, and will destroy our country if she’s elected.”
Reacting to this, Ms Harris’ presidential campaign released a statement on X. They said, “Donald Trump’s extremism and dangerous Project 2025 agenda are a hallmark of his campaign, not a flaw, which was on full display tonight during what was happening on X.com for those unfortunate enough to listen in.”
“Trump’s entire campaign is in service to Elon Musk and people like him — self-obsessed rich people who will sell out the middle class and who can’t run a livestream in 2024,” he said.
