After Sreeleela, actress Nivetha Thomas warns of legal action over AI deepfakes
Nivetha Thomas has criticized the creation and dissemination of AI-generated images using her likeness. He called this act disturbing, illegal and a violation of privacy. Earlier, Sreeleela had urged the public to refrain from associating with such content.

Actress Nivetha Thomas has spoken out after discovering AI-generated images of her misusing her identity. He recently flagged a photo circulating online on social media.
Thomas emphasized that digital cloning is illegal and a violation of privacy. He warned that repeated sharing of such content could lead to legal action. The actor urged social media users not to participate in spreading or legitimizing manipulated contents.
In her X post, Nivetha wrote, “It has come to my attention that AI-generated images misusing my identity and a recent photograph shared on my social media are being circulated online. The creation and dissemination of such content without consent is extremely disturbing, unacceptable and unlawful. This constitutes digital impersonation and a serious violation of my privacy. I am placing this on record.”

She said, “Those responsible, including the accounts operating behind Anonymity, are directed to immediately stop and remove such content. I urge others to recognize the harm they cause in enabling this behavior. Do not re-share, engage, or legitimize such content in any form. Any continued dissemination will be considered a deliberate misuse of my identity and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent.”
Earlier in the day, Sreeleela had also addressed the dangers of AI-generated content. She appealed to social media users, “I request every social media user with folded hands not to support AI-generated nonsense. There is a difference between using and misusing technology.”
She further added, “Advances in technology are meant to simplify life, not complicate it. Every girl has a daughter, granddaughter, sister, friend or colleague, even if she chooses art as one of her profession. We want to be part of an industry that spreads happiness, with the confidence that we are in a protected environment.”
The actor further added, “I am unaware of many things happening online due to my schedule, and I thank my well-wishers for bringing this to my attention. I have always taken things in a pinch and live in my own world, but this is very upsetting and devastating. I see my fellow colleagues going through this too and am reaching out to them on everyone’s behalf.”

She concluded her post by saying, “With grace and dignity, and with confidence in your audience, I ask you to please stand with us. The authorities will take it over from here.”
Both Thomas and Srileela urged followers and the public to avoid interacting with AI-generated images that misuse personal identities. He stressed the importance of ethical technology use and awareness of the harm such behavior can cause.
