Sonakshi Sinha took to her Instagram Stories to aggressively respond to Mukesh Khanna, who blamed her father Shatrughan Sinha for not knowing a question related to Ramayana. A day later, Shotgun Sr. hit back at Khanna for questioning his daughter’s upbringing. He asked, “What qualifies this person to be an expert in all things related to Ramayana?”
Shatrughan Sinha was speaking to Bollywood Hungama when he reacted to the controversy involving his daughter Sonakshi Sinha and actor Mukesh Khanna. The veteran actor said that no one has a problem with Sonakshi for not answering a question on Ramayana. He further said, “First of all, what qualifies this person to be an expert on all things related to Ramayana? And who has appointed him the guardian of Hinduism?”
The Rakta Charitra actor also said that he is very proud of his three children. He defended Sonakshi, saying that she became a star on her own and never had to start her career. “She’s a daughter any father would be proud of,” the 78-year-old actor said. He further said that not answering a question on Ramayana does not disqualify Sonakshi from being a good Hindu. Furthermore, he does not need an approval certificate from anyone.
Speaking to Siddharth Kannan, the Shaktiman actor expressed his disappointment on Sonakshi for not answering a Ramayana-based question in Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) in 2019. Mukesh Khanna said that people were angry that Sonakshi did not know this. “But I would say it’s not his fault; It’s his father’s fault. Why didn’t they teach this to their children? Why did they become so modern?” He asked question.
After hearing his statement, the Dabangg actress wrote a long post on her social media and criticized Khanna for questioning her upbringing and blaming her father. Sona said that day there were two women on the hot seat who did not know the answer to the same question. But she decided to continue taking only his name for reasons that are quite clear to her. He admitted, “Yes, I may have ignored human instincts that day and forgotten for whom Sanjivani Booti was brought.” (Thus)
He concluded his post by saying that the next time he decides to say anything about the values instilled in him by his father, please remember that it is because of those values that I only said what I said. This is, very respectfully, after you made some unflattering statements about my parenting,” he said.
