After Madhya Pradesh, Sabarmati report declared tax free in Chhattisgarh
Vikrant Massey’s film The Sabarmati Report, depicting the 2002 Godhra train massacre, has been declared tax-free in Chhattisgarh, making it the second BJP-ruled state after Madhya Pradesh to do so.

The Hindi film The Sabarmati Report, based on the 2002 Godhra train fire in Gujarat, was declared tax-free in Chhattisgarh by the state’s BJP government on Tuesday (November 19). Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai announced that Sabarmati Report, in which actor Vikrant Massey plays a journalist, will be tax-free in the state, meaning the Bollywood film is exempted from entertainment duty.
Chhattisgarh has become the second BJP-ruled state after Madhya Pradesh to grant tax-free status to the film directed by Dheeraj Sarna, which hit the theaters on November 15. A statement issued by the state public relations department said, “In this film, an attempt has been made to show the truth of the story of the train accident that took place in Godhra, Gujarat 22 years ago.” should also be seen because study of the past can give us better guidance about the present and future.
