Owen Cooper experienced fame overnight with a limited range of Netflix with adolescence. The young actor made a great impression on the audience with his performance in his first professional acting role. Although Cooper won his breakout role to play the role of Jam, he is still a 15 -year -old school student.
However, returning to school after becoming a star was a completely different experience. In an interview with The New York Times, he shared that the attention he received at school was upset. “It’s a little crazy,” he said.
He admitted that the next day the shocking reactions of his schoolmates decreased slightly. Cooper commented that it was only one upset. “Stephen Graham, who played his father in the show, was also present during the interview.
“What kind of ‘upset’?” Graham asked like a concerned parents. The young actor assured him that it was nothing serious – just children are coming to him, shouting his name, and running away. Graham replied with relief, “Ah, just some silly bolks.”
In adolescents, Cooper won his appreciation with a teenager convicted for killing her classmate. Despite all the episodes being filmed in a-shot scenery, the actor portrayed a scared psychological teenage boy yet.
Speaking to the outlet, Cooper was clear about his early aspirations. “I wanted to be a footballer,” he revealed, saying that acting was not in his mind. He joined acting classes as a “hobby”, but quickly bent.
He took a lesson in a drama crowd in Manchester, where he and other students will read the script. When he received a self-tape request for the Netflix show, he started taking acting more seriously. He said, “I just took to the chin, in fact, and just did it.”
Cooper admitted that it was “strange” and amazing at the same time to see himself on screen. He will next be seen as a young heathcliff in Amerald Fennal’s Vuttering Heights adaptation, including Margot Robbie and Jacob Alfi.
