Acclaimed Kannada director Guruprasad, known for films like Matha and Edelu Manjunatha, has been found dead in his Bengaluru flat, with initial reports indicating suicide. His mutilated body was discovered when neighbors reported a strong smell coming from his apartment.

Authorities suspect that he died several days earlier, but the investigation is ongoing to determine the exact circumstances.

Guruprasad, who recently celebrated his 52nd birthday, was reportedly facing serious financial difficulties, compounded by alleged harassment from creditors, multiple court cases and the recent allegations of corruption.

His second wife, who is currently pregnant, was at her family home during the incident. Police are now at the scene and have started a thorough investigation.
