Actress Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia’s journey on Rohit Shetty-hosted Khatron Ke Khiladi 16 came to an end just days before the finale. In an exclusive conversation with India Today Digital, Nimrit reflected on her journey and admitted that she misses the earlier format of the stunt-based show where contestants would discuss their experiences. Addressing the added drama, she mentioned that such decisions are made by the creative team based on the market demand.

Answering our questions about how Khatron Ke Khiladi has gradually evolved into a lighter version of Bigg Boss, the actor shared, “The prerogative of how to make a show lies completely with the makers and creatives. They understand the market better and plan the content accordingly. I am no one to say it’s right or wrong. However, as a viewer, honestly, even I miss the old format, especially the moments when the contestants would talk about their stunts. We shot those portions, but you have limited time. But those conversations give us an insight into the connection we made with Rohit sir and the friendship we built.”

When asked about her journey, the Choti Sarrdaarni actress said, He said, “When I enter a room, I know I am not a favourite. So, my entire focus is on working hard, and that dedication has helped me achieve success. I never give up no matter what the circumstances are, and that’s who I am, even in real life. I believe success and failures will happen; you just have to keep going. It’s important to always give your 100 per cent. And it was very rewarding to see myself doing that on the show.”

Nimrit also discussed events that happened on the show, including her decision to choose Aditi Sharma as the captain for the elimination task and her fallout with Shilpa Shinde, both of which stirred up a lot of controversy.

Talking about Aditi, the actor said that she stands by her decision. “If not for Asim Riaz, Aditi would have been evicted in the first week itself. Then how could I put myself in danger? Also, I have been very foolish in friendships over the years, and I have realised that you need to separate your business from your relationships. I have learnt the hard way that you need to put yourself first. Because if you don’t, who will?,” she said.

Talking about Shilpa Shinde, the actor clearly said, “Everyone has a different nature and they come to the show with different purposes. It all depends on what they can bring. Some people enjoy taking a dig at others, but I can tolerate a lot.”

Lastly, Nimrit shared that Khatron Ke Khiladi 14 is a testament to her true self. “I was really in a place myself. During Bigg Boss, I was going through a transformation in terms of my health. On this show, I was back to being who I was and it was a great feeling. It was a positive experience for me. I also got to learn a lot day by day.”

Khatron Ke Khiladi 14 finale is scheduled to air on September 29. The five finalists of the show are Karanvir Mehra, Gashmeer Mahajani, Abhishek Kumar, Shaleen Bhanot and Krishna Shroff.
