,rockstar‘Famous actress Nargis Fakhri’s sister Alia Fakhri has been arrested in the investigation of the murder of her ex-boyfriend and his friend in Queens, New York. Aaliyah, 43, allegedly opened fire in the two-story garage, killing 35-year-old Edward Jacobs and 33-year-old Anastasia Etienne.
Aliya Fakhri arrived at the garage early in the morning on November 2 and screamed at Jacobs, who lived upstairs, “You’re all going to die today”. A witness heard the sound and came outside and found the building on fire, said District Attorney Melinda Katz.
Jacobs was sleeping at the time of the incident. Étienne came down after being alerted, but returned to rescue Jacobs. But neither of them could get out of the burning building safely. Jacobs and Etienne died of smoke inhalation and thermal injuries, Ms. Katz’s office said in a press release.
Aliya Fakhri has been charged with four counts of murder in the first degree and four counts of murder in the second degree. He has also been charged with arson by a grand jury. He faces a maximum sentence of life in prison if convicted of the top charge, the lawyer said.
The court has taken him on remand and his next appearance is scheduled for December 9.
“As alleged in this indictment, this defendant maliciously ended the lives of two people by setting a fire, leaving a man and woman trapped in a horrific inferno. The victims tragically suffered smoke inhalation and thermal injuries. Died,” Ms. Katz said.
A witness at the crime scene also recounted a disturbing account of the events. Recalling that he smelled a sweet burning smell, witness said he found the sofa on the stairs on fire. To escape hell he had to jump over the fire. The witness said Etienne had jumped in with him but went back to save Jacobs.
Describing their relationship as abusive, the witness also said that Ms Fakhri had previously threatened to burn down Jacobs’ house.
Jacobs broke up with Ms. Fakhri about a year ago, but she was not accepting the rejection, her mother, Janet, told the New York Post. He said his son was a plumber and was working on a project to convert a garage into apartments.
Nargis Fakhri, best known for her role in the Ranbir Kapoor starrer rockstarHas not yet commented on this matter.
However, her mother did not believe that Aliya Fakhri could kill someone. He said that Alia was a person who took care of everyone and tried to help them. According to multiple reports, he also revealed that Aaliyah was struggling with opioid addiction after a dental accident, which he believes may be the reason for her behavior.
