Actress Aanchal Munjal on landing Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: Thought it was a scam
Actress Aanchal Munjal shares her experience of working with Allu Arjun in Pushpa 2. In an interview with India Today Digital, he recalled how he got the role in the film Sukumar.
Actress Aanchal Munjal is very happy after her appearance in Pushpa 2 with Allu Arjun. Sharing the screen with the superstar felt like a dream come true for him. In an exclusive chat with India Today Digital, Aanchal, who plays Saurabh Sachdev’s love interest in the gangster drama, talks about her experience working with Allu Arjun and how she got the role.
Aanchal, who had earlier shared a reel on pushpa 2 title trackrecalled the unexpected moment when he got a call from Sukumar’s team. At first, she thought it was a scam.
Talking about that moment, the Parvarish actor said, “It felt like a miracle! I was shooting for another project when I decided to record a reel on the Pushpa 2 title track and post it on Instagram, as the song had just released. With the film hitting screens on August 15, I thought, ‘Why not make a reel?’ After it went viral, I got a call from a casting director saying, ‘I’m calling on behalf of Sukumar’s team; He wants to cast you for a specific role.”
“At first I thought it was a scam. I wondered, ‘Why would someone suddenly call me so soon after posting a reel?’ I yelled at them, ‘Are you trying to fool me?’ The film is releasing in two months; Surely the shooting should be completed by now!’ But he offered to video call me from the set to prove it. Once we verified everything, I was stunned—it was true! Sukumar sir really wanted to work with me,” he added.
After which Aanchal became completely mesmerized Sharing screen space with Allu Arjunalso opened up about his decision to play a unique role in the iconic film. Reflecting on the journey, the actor said, “Sharing screen space with Allu Arjun and Saurabh Sachdev was the reason for me to say yes to being a part of Pushpa. When I came to know that I was going to play Saurabh Sachdev’s love interest and the lead scene was with Allu Arjun, I said, ‘Oh my God, nothing can be better than this.’
“Many people have questioned me that since childhood you have been a part of only projects in which you are playing lead roles. Now why so? So my only answer was why not? 18 years ago, when I started my career, I had no hesitation in my mind whether I wanted to do a big or small role. My only thought was to work, be visible and become famous.”
