Malayalam actor Unni Mukundan remembered growing near the Air India flight crash site in Ahmedabad on Thursday. He expressed grief over the tragic accident and said that he and his school friends are in deep shock.
Unni was born in Thrissur, Kerala and brought up in Ahmedabad. He remained close to the accident site until he turned 24 years old.
In a conversation ManoramaThe 37 -year -old actor said, “I came to know that the plane crash took place ten kilometers from Maninagar in Ahmedabad in Meghninagar. Maninagar is the place where I lived for 24 years. Like Kerala, Gujarat, Gujarat is my favorite state. I have caused my childhood and adolescence.”
Earlier, UNNI expressed condolences to the families of the victims on social media and hoped that they would get strength in such difficult times. He wrote, “Air India Ahmedabad-London flight crash has broken heart. My heart comes out for families who have lost their loved ones. I can only imagine their grief, and I pray that they get strength in their dark times. Every soul can get their peace, and leave behind those who feel the heat of their support and love.
Many celebrities of the Indian film industry, including Anupam Kher and Priyanka Chopra, expressed grief over the tragic accident on Friday. Anupam first shared a video in Hindi on his Instagram account, stating that the plane crash is not just news, but a mountain of sadness that has broken so many houses.
Meanwhile, Priyanka shared, “So, so sad. Praying for all the affected and families facing unimaginable losses in the Air India tragedy (SIC)”.
Air India flight crashed after flying from Sardar Vallabhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad for London. The aircraft crashed in a government hospital hostel in Meghaninagar. The accident killed 265 people, including former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani.
Unni Mukundan made her acting debut with the Tamil film ‘Seedon’. He later played the lead role in ‘Mallu Singh’. Some of his popular films include ‘Vikramadithian’, ‘KL 10 Ponthu’, ‘Style’, ‘Oru Murai’, ‘Vanathu Parthaya’, ‘Achayanan’, ‘Malikappuram’ and ‘Marco’. He won a national award as a producer for his debut production ‘Mappadian’.
