The controversy centers on claims that some photographers deliberately record female actors from suggestive angles during events. These images and videos are then circulated online, often with zoom-ins or editing to attract attention. Many artists have argued that such practices divert attention from their work and limit them to viral content based on appearance.
Speaking about the issue, Shiva Rajkumar urged the media to act responsibly and show more awareness. In a message shared on social media, he wrote, “It is our misfortune that even today we have to ask people to respect women. Please act with discretion. Do not hurt the dignity of women.”

Saptami Gowda’s comments instantly resonated with other actors in the industry. The artists have emphasized that the problem is not isolated, but something that happens again and again at public functions, press meets and film events.
Actresses Rukmini Vasanth and Aashika Ranganath were among those who shared a joint statement addressing the issue on social media. The statement said inappropriate filming at public events has become common, with scenes often deliberately staged and broadcast online that distract from the actors’ artistry.
The artistes stressed that they attend events to promote their films and connect with the audience, and not be limited to viral clips shot from objectionable angles. The discussion has since sparked a wider conversation within the Kannada film industry about responsible media coverage and the need to maintain dignity during public events.
Shiva Rajkumar was last seen 45. The actor currently has several projects in the pipeline including Father And 666 Operation Dream Theater.
