After Malayalam star Fahadh Faasil, Malayalam actor Shine Tom Chacko has opened up about suffering from Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The actor said it is his “best quality” and it has been “very beneficial” for him.

Speaking to Manorama Online, the actor said, “I have ADHD. I am a child with ADHD. It is a diagnosed condition. People with ADHD often try to get the attention of others. In fact, an actor thrives on this need for attention. Otherwise, why stay in a closed room? Every man has it. That’s why we go out and dress up – to get attention.”

“In people with ADHD, this behaviour is much more pronounced, which is why it is called a disorder. A person with ADHD always wants attention and will try to stand out from other actors. They will perform according to the character to get more attention from the audience. Only outsiders see it as a disorder. For me, ADHD is my best quality. Some people say ‘a stain is good,’ right? It may not apply to everyone, but for me, ADHD has been very beneficial,” the actor said.

ADHD is a condition that affects people’s behavior in social scenarios. They have problems with attention and concentration and on many occasions they act impulsively. The cause behind ADHD is unknown.
