Veteran actor Nassar shared a touching story of his son Faisal’s recovery from coma, highlighting the important role of Tamil cinema star Vijay. Faizal, a devoted fan, called Vijay’s name first upon waking up, with Vijay personally supporting his rehabilitation journey.

Veteran actor Nassar recently shared a deeply personal story about his son Faisal’s miraculous recovery, highlighting the influential role of Tamil cinema star Vijay in his life. In an interview on the OMG podcast, Nassar recalled the traumatic experience of Faisal’s 2014 accident, which left him in a coma for more than 14 days. Faisal’s first word after regaining consciousness was ‘Vijay’, which is a testament to his admiration for the actor.
Nassar said that his son was a die-hard fan of Vijay and often imitated his style and mannerisms. The family were relieved when Faisal’s memory remained intact and they used Vijay’s films and songs as part of his recovery process. Nassar’s wife Kamila noticed Faisal’s enthusiasm when shown photographs of Vijay, which inspired her to incorporate more of the actor’s work into his rehabilitation.
The actor said in the interview, “He was unconscious for 14 days, was in a coma and was taken to Singapore for treatment.” When he woke up, he neither said Amma (mother) or Appa (father); He said Vijay. He has a friend with that name, so we were happy that his memory was intact. But when my son met his friend he did not recognize him; He looked at her blankly.
Actor Vijay, fondly called Thalapathy, met Faisal several times after learning about his condition. “When Vijay found out, he asked if he could meet my son. Even when we told him it was okay, he insisted. He met him not once but several times. He spent time with her and he even gifted her a ukulele because he knew she played guitar. So, definitely, he plays a very important role in my life…in my Faisal’s life,” Nassar said.
Vijay was last seen in Venkat Prabhu’s The Greatest of All TimeWhich proved to be one of the highest grossing films of this year. He is set to star in H Vinoth’s upcoming project, which is speculated to be his last film before devoting himself completely to politics. The film stars Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Narayan, Priyamani, Mamita Baiju, Monisha Blessy and Varalakshmi Sarathkumar along with Pooja Hegde and Bobby Deol in lead roles.
