Actor Amulya’s brother and director Deepak Aras passes away at the age of 42
Deepak Aras, brother of former Kannada actress Amulya, who was a director in the Kannada film industry, died at the age of 42 due to kidney failure on Thursday, October 17, 2024.
Kannada director Deepak Aras, known for his work on Mansology (2012) and Sugar Factory (2023), died on October 17, 2024 due to kidney failure at the age of 42. Former actor Amulya’s elder brother Deepak was a well-known figure in the Kannada film industry. He was suffering from kidney problems for some time and his sudden death has shocked the Kannada film industry. Despite being treated for kidney failure, he died in a private hospital in RR Nagar.
His younger sister Amulya shared the news of her brothers’ death on her Instagram story and X. He wrote in the story, “My dearest brother Deepanna left us today at 6 am, we are very sad to lose you at such a young age.” You will live among us forever.” Deepak was undergoing treatment for kidney problems for some time. He was also undergoing dialysis, but the medical intervention was not effective.

Deepak’s directorial debut, Mansology, was a romantic drama that marked his entry into the industry, but it was his second film, Sugar Factory, which brought him into the limelight after a long gap. Released in 2023, Sugar Factory was a comedy entertainer that captured the modern-day pub culture and featured Darling Krishna in the lead role. The film was praised for its fun story and marked Deepak’s return to direction after almost a decade.
Deepak leaves behind two children, wife and a large family. His funeral took place in Bengaluru, as revealed by his sister Amulya in her Instagram story.
