Stree 2 is making a big bang at the box office. The film starring Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor and others is winning the hearts of fans and breaking several records at the box office. In a recent interaction, Abhishek Banerjee who plays the character of Jana in the film spoke about the response the film is getting and compared it to the ‘whistles and hoots’ Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathan and Jawaan received.
Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, Abhishek Banerjee spoke about the tremendous response Stree 2 is getting at the box office and said that he feels it is like a festive season in theatres. Throwing light on the response of people in cinema halls, the actor said that he had heard of crowds hooting and whistling in theatres. He said that this happens especially in Amitabh Bachchan films.
The Bhediya star admitted that he is sad that we are now in a time when we don’t get to see this happen in theatres. He added that he witnessed similar magic in Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathan and Jawaan last year. “I specifically went to watch these films to experience it and understand what it is like. And when it happens to your own film, you don’t even realise how special it feels.”
Many actors are praising the film and the cast. Recently, one more name has been added to this list, that of Sunny Deol. He shared a poster of the film on his social media handle. Expressing his happiness on seeing the film progressing continuously, Sunny Deol wrote, “Congratulations to the team of Stree 2 for bringing a huge monsoon at the box office and excitement for the exhibitors. Keep going” he wrote with a red heart emoji.
In a recent interview, Abhishek Banerjee also revealed that work on the script of the third installment of the film has begun and it is going to be bigger and better.
