International singing sensation Dua Lipa was recently in Mumbai and performed for her many die-hard fans in the city. At the event, she was seen singing a new mashup of her song Levitating and Shahrukh Khan’s song Woh Ladki Jo. While his performance impressed many, singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya’s son Jai Bhattacharya was not happy that people were not giving his father enough credit for creating this classic song.
The video of Dua Lipa and Shah Rukh Khan’s levitating X-Wo Ladki Jo mashup from their recent concert in Mumbai has taken the internet by storm. People are appreciating the international star for performing the trending track on stage. However, Abhijeet Bhattacharya’s son Jai Bhattacharya expressed his displeasure, alleging that his father was not given enough credit for the track.
Jai posted a video of Dua singing the mashup song on his Instagram. In the long caption, she pointed out how many people failed to mention the voice behind this peppy number. “Why has it always been about the actors in this country? Yes, Shah Rukh Khan is undoubtedly the star of the song, but it also involves another man and a great personality!” He said.
Jai Bhattacharya, who is also a singer, further said in his post, “I am sure when @dualipa heard this song she would have heard it and appreciated the man who has sung this song with SRK ” She said the song ‘Woh Ladki’ from the 1999 film Badshah is sung by her father, famous singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya and composed by Anu Malik.
He further added, “This is @AbhijeetBhattacharya and composed by @anumalikmusic. I’m sorry, but the name of this song is ‘Woh Ladki Jo Sabse Alag Hai’ – Abhijeet, you search it anywhere, but in this country the media never lets a singer get his due and then people ask me that you Why don’t you try singing for Bollywood?
Jai concluded by saying that his post is not about Shahrukh Khan as he is his biggest fan ever. While he admitted that ‘Bakri’ King Khan took the song to a different level, he also said that it is time everyone was given credit for it.
The young boy told that his father does riyaaz (practice) every morning and works hard every day for the last 35 years by going out and performing live songs on stage for his fans. So, people need to show some respect towards him.
