Actor Aamir Khan received the first RK Laxman Award for Excellence. The prestigious award, a special tribute to legendary artist RK Laxman, was presented to the superstar by his family.
Aamir Khan, who is known for his acting skills, was recently honored with the first RK Laxman Award for Excellence. This makes him the first actor to receive this honour.
The awards ceremony was a grand night where music, art and heritage came together. Aamir Khan received honor from Boman Irani. Sharing glimpses of the grand awards night, the makers wrote, “Honoring a legend in the most unforgettable way. Aamir Khan received the first RK Laxman Award For excellence on the part of Boman Irani, thousands of people witnessed this special moment. A night where music, art and heritage come together.”

The award was also accompanied by a live concert by Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman. The ceremony was held at the MCA Cricket Stadium, where music and memories came together to honor the cartoonist who created one of India’s most loved characters, The Common Man.
During his lifetime, RK Laxman received several honours, including the Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan and an honorary doctorate from the University of Mysore.
