Aamir Khan, who is one of the most versatile actors in the Hindi film industry, is a father to three children- Ira Khan, Junaid Khan and Azad Khan. Aamir has been quite vocal about his life lessons, the failure of Laal Singh Chaddha and how the 59-year-old superstar desires a partner. His latest interview on Rhea Chakraborty’s podcast, Chapter 2, is all about the same. Aamir recently reflected on his past, regretting being absent from the lives of his children, Ira, Junaid and Azad. He also revealed how he used to keep in touch with his directors but was not aware of the challenges of his children.
In a podcast with Rhea Chakraborty, Aamir Khan recalled that he focused on his career and this caused him to spend precious time with his children Ira, Junaid and Azad.
Aamir revealed that his daughter Ira is better now after dealing with depression, but at that time she “needed” him. Talking about his son Junaid, who debuted with Maharaj this year, the Laal Singh Chaddha actor expressed that he has lived his life without him. The Missing Ladies producer said that Junaid is taking the “last big step” in his career and the superstar needs to be with him.
The 59-year-old actor also spoke about his younger son who is just 9 years old and said that he will soon become a teenager. The worried father shared that Azad’s childhood will not come back.
Aamir Khan stressed that while the superstar was busy with his work, he had deep feelings for his family. “My focus was always on winning the hearts of the audience. When they were young, I had no idea about their feelings or needs,” he said. “I knew everything about my team and directors, but was unaware of the challenges of my children,” an emotional Aamir said.
In the same interview, Aamir Khan also revealed that he was initially planning to quit Bollywood. His children Ira and Junaid advised him not to quit films and called it a “big mistake”.
Aamir Khan will now be seen in the upcoming film Sitare Zameen Par directed by RS Prasanna. It also stars Genelia D’Souza and Darsheel Safari.
