Actor Aamir Khan recently met the President of India, Draupadi Murmu, at Rashtrapati Bhavan. He hosted a special screening of his game drama ‘Sitare Zameen Paar’.
President Murmu’s official handle shared a picture with Khan from the screening. The caption said, “The acclaimed filmmaker and actor Mr. Aamir Khan called President Drupadi Murmu to Rashtrapati Bhavan.”
‘Sitare Zameen Paar’ is a spiritual successor of Khan’s 2007 film ‘Taare Zameen Paar’. The screening of the film at Rashtrapati Bhavan has yet to embrace art which promotes national dialogue and social understanding.
The film also stars Araush Dutta, Gopi Krishna Verma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman -Mishra and Simran Mishra in Jenalia Deshmukh.
‘Sitare Zameen Paar’ is directed by RS Prasanna, who first directed the ‘Shub Mangal Savdhan’. The script of the film is written by Divya Nidhi Sharma. This is a remake of the 2018 Spanish Sports Drama ‘Campon’. The film is co-produced by Khan, Aparna Purohit, B Shineavas Rao and Ravi Bhagchandka.
Khan plays the role of a basketball coach for a team of neurodionary people in the film. Today IndiaIn his feature on ‘Sitare Zameen Paar’, the feminist lens of the film was also mentioned. It read in it, “In a film that talks about the inclusion, it is not only neurodivarient people who find their place, they are also women who want gratitude, courage and, most importantly.”
Khan played an important role in ‘Taare Zameen Paar’, which was also produced by him. The film marked the beginning of his direction. This reflects the issue of dyslexia and lack of awareness between parents and masters. The film introduced the then Child actor Darshel Safari as the main lead.
On June 20, 2025, ‘Sitare Zameen Paar’ was released in theaters.
