Decoding the Delhi No-Crater Blast and Faridabad Ammonium Nitrate Terror Link
This special report examines the November 10 car blast near Delhi’s Red Fort that left investigators puzzling because there was no crater or shrapnel, pointing to a change in terror tactics. The investigation focuses on the use of ammonium nitrate and the blast has been linked to the terror module recently busted in Faridabad involving medical professionals and massive seizure of explosives. The report analyzes the evolving nature of terror, with one expert on the program saying, ‘This whole traditional thought process of IEDs, sharpeners, craters and all these things came into existence, that’s how we think. On November 10, at least 12 people were killed and more than 20 injured in a terrorist blast in a car outside Delhi’s Red Fort. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is leading the investigation, which has uncovered a ‘white collar’ terror module linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed. The focus of the investigation is on several doctors of Al-Fala University, Faridabad. Suspected suicide bomber, Dr Mohammad Omar, reportedly detonated an explosives-laden vehicle following the arrest of his associates in a related terror bust in Faridabad, where authorities seized around 2,900 kg of explosives. Another key figure, Dr. Shaheen Shahid, was reportedly tasked with setting up a women’s wing for Jaish-e-Mohammed in India. The investigation into the multi-state terror network is ongoing.
Red Fort terror attack: NIA probes Jaish links, suspects big network after suicide blast
This special report details the aftermath of the suicide terrorist attack on Delhi’s Red Fort, which reportedly killed nine people. The investigation, now led by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), is probing suspected links to Jaish-e-Mohammed and a wider terror module operating from Jammu and Kashmir to Faridabad, where a large quantity of explosives were found. The report comes following a search for a possible sleeper cell and an absconding accomplice as Delhi and Mumbai have been put on high alert. According to sources quoted in the report, ‘Even the Home Minister told the same thing to the NIA that every member of the module should be traced and action should be taken against him.’
