Aamir Khan and Rajinikanth will reunite after 30 years for ‘Coolie’: Report
Actors Aamir Khan and Rajinikanth may reunite on the big screen after 30 years since their last roles in the 1995 film ‘Aatank Hi Aatank’, which also starred Juhi Chawla.

Actor Aamir Khan may be working with Rajinikanth again in his next film ‘Coolie’. While the news is yet to be confirmed, various media reports suggest that the two are finally working together after 30 years since their last film ‘Aatank Hi Aatank’ in 1995.
Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film is being made on a big budget and is one of the most awaited Tamil films. The news of Aamir joining the cast came as a surprise to his fans. However, as stated in a report published by Track TollywoodIn this film, the actor will not be seen in a full role but in a special cameo.
‘Coolie’ was earlier supposed to feature Nagarjuna as the main villain. However, things did not go as planned and the team cast Kannada actor Upendra Rao as the main villain. Amitabh Bachchan, Shruti Haasan and Rana Daggubati are the other actors who play important roles in the film.
Interestingly, while fans believed that ‘Coolie’ is a part of Lokesh’s cinematic universe, he recently revealed that it is a stand-alone film. The director assured his fans that there will be more films in the LCU (Lokesh’s cinematic universe) including ‘Kaithi 2’ and ‘Vikram 2’, but this Rajinikanth starrer is going to be a special film in itself.
The shooting of ‘Coolie’ began in Hyderabad in July this year. Although its official release date has not been revealed yet, it will hit the screens in the second half of 2025.
Meanwhile, both Aamir and Rajinikanth are also working on other popular projects. Aamir’s list of films also includes ‘Sitare Zameen Par’, which stars him alongside Genelia Deshmukh in the lead role. It is the official Hindi remake of the Spanish film ‘Champions’. Rajinikanth also has ‘Vettaiyaan’ in his kitty, directed by TJ Gnanavel.
