Aamir Khan: Amitabh Bachchan encouraged the theater-cavalry release of Sitare land
Bollywood actor Aamir Khan has decided to leave Sitare Zameen in particular in theaters, which is rejecting the initial digital release. He revealed that Amitabh Bachchan’s support was at risk but played an important role in the cinema-deeds.

In short
- Aamir Khan announced only one dramatic-release for Sitare land cross
- They believe that digitally releasing within eight weeks is unfair to cinema
- Amitabh Bachchan encouraged him to rely on his tendency and take risks
Aamir Khan surprised the world when he announced that his film Sitare will be a dramatic release across the ground. The superstar argued that releasing a film on a digital platform eight weeks after his dramatic start is an improper proposal.
Recently in a group interview, when India today asked Aamir how the industry reacted to his decision, he revealed that it was Amitabh Bachchan who encouraged him to take risks and stick to his beliefs.
The actor talked about how OTT platform today pressure producers released their films for streaming within a very tight time limit. While he said that he has no problem with any platform, he does not find the timeline logical. Khan said that he was comfortable with a gap of six months, but would never want his film digitally released immediately after his dramatic run.
“I am a loyal in cinema, and I believe in it. Yes, it is a big risk, and it contains a lot (money). If I do not get that part of my pre-bikri, and the film does not work, it could be a big loss, it could be a big loss. I have given them down because I want to go to the audience theater and watch my movie.
Aamir Khan shared that when he did not talk to many other people in the industry, some of his close friends tried to change their minds. He admitted that although he is not known to be practical, he was torn and scared. However, it was Amitabh Bachchan whose words helped him to take a final decision.
The actor-director revealed that he and his son Junaid Khan had won the dinner opportunities during their tenure on Kurtapati. The host, senior Bachchan invited him to his house three months ago. Incidentally, it was still when the discussion about the OTT release of the film was being held within Aamir’s team.
“Everyone was suggesting that we go in a traditional way, but I was adamant about a theater-care release. That night, when I met Mr. Bachchan, I don’t know what came on me, but I opened it about my concerns. I told him that friends and well-wishers felt that I was not making the right option,” Aamir shared.
The experienced actor advised Khan to rely on his tendency, reminding that he was always a risk. Aamir remembered, “I was scared and was uncertain, but he said to me, ‘Why are you not doing this? You have always taken risks. You are a risk.’ We all respect Amit ji deeply, and when he said, it valued my faith.
Aamir clarified that this decision applies only to ‘Sitare Zameen Paar’. The production house will decide about future films after reacting to this. Directed by RS Prasanna, the film also features Genelia D’Suza and hosts neurodivarian children.
