The home’s architecture drew inspiration from Jennifer’s childhood memories of life in West Virginia. The dream that turned into reality featured a garden in the front path, trees leading to the entrance, and a back facade that felt open to the outdoors. Surrounded by woods and gardens, this home’s design paid homage to the wonderful outdoor world at every turn, through various art and textiles like the screened-in porch on the second floor. The interior design focused on a calm and neutral palette. Brooke said that “Jen loves vintage pieces” so, they made sure to add designer items like vintage decorative pieces from Swedish and Danish designers, as well as a French 1850s farmhouse table for the dining room.

Moving on, the kitchen is said to be one of the most welcoming spaces in the house. It featured boned marble, soapstone countertops, round mohair-covered breakfast table chairs, and a fireplace. Steve talked about the idea behind it and said, “She’s not trying to be pretentious or show off with colorful accessories or things like that. There’s a kind of natural calm to the things she likes.”

She also wanted to create a spacious and comfortable room. That led to unique additions like a cozy blue study room and a reading corner with colorful glass windows on the top floor. The windows are created by artist Reed Bradley and are inspired by her mother’s paintings. The work features owls representing Jennifer’s children and her dog. Taking us to the outdoor areas we see that they have been designed in collaboration with landscape designer Christine London. A kitchen garden provides a warm atmosphere and provides fresh fruit and vegetables, with a pool and firepit area a perfect place to hang out.

Overall, Jennifer's Los Angeles home is a perfect blend of the modern world and old historical parallels.
