
Swedish journalist Jokim Medin, who was detained on his arrival in Turkey on Thursday, has been jailed to cover the road protest, the editor of the editor of the editor of his newspaper told the AFP on Friday.

Gustavasan wrote on his X account, “I know that these allegations are false, 100 percent are false.”
Gustavasana earlier said that Medin had sent a text message stating that he was “being taken for questioning”.
Gustavasana said, “Jokim should be released. Because the freedom of the press is being attacked.”
Turkey has intensified its rift over anti -government protests, which broke after the arrest and jelling of Istanbul’s popular opposition Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu.
Turkish internal minister Ali Yralikaya said on Thursday that more than 1,879 people have been detained since March 19.
The Union of Turkish journalists (TGS) said on Friday that the police also detained two Turkish women journalists at their homes.
Officials came on Monday a few hours after the release of 11 journalists arrested for covering protests to 11 journalists arrested in a don raid, AFP photographer Yasin Akgul.
The broadcaster said Turkey, BBC journalist Mark Lowen, who was covering the protests, caught him for 17 hours on Wednesday, stating him that he had “threatened for public order”.
In a statement late on Thursday night, the Turkish Directorate of Communications Stated that Lauvan was “deported” due to “lack of recognition”.
