Diet plays a vital role in achieving weight loss goals. Firstly, you need to reduce your intake of processed and calorie-dense foods that are high in sugar, salt and unhealthy fats. Once you start eating clean and healthy, you will experience many positive changes in your health and fitness. However, to achieve remarkable changes, especially in your weight, it is also important to not overeat healthy, home-cooked food. Overeating home-cooked rotis, rice or fried foods can lead to weight gain. So, what do we do? In a recent Instagram video, nutritionist Deepshikha Jain shared how to serve your meals the right way to lose weight.
“A balanced plate means a healthy you! When you learn to eat mindfully by including all types of macro and micronutrients in one plate, most of the problems and overeating stop,” says the nutritionist, “Most people struggle to lose weight or suffer from obesity and diseases because they do not know how to maintain a balance of food on their plate.”

How to organize meals for weight loss:
First, you need to divide your plate into four equal parts, which will help you balance your macronutrients. You can do this with the help of chopsticks or a butter knife. Now let’s understand the four elements necessary to put your food on the plate for weight loss and good health:
1. Start with a salad
Fill the first half with raw vegetables or salad. This will keep your blood sugar level better.
2. Protein-rich dal or gravy
The second order of eating and the empty space is filled with protein. So it can be dal, lentils, paneer ki sabzi or any protein source you like.

3. Raita or curd
The third space should be filled with a source of probiotics or prebiotics. You can have Greek yogurt, raita or plain yogurt. This will help boost your digestion.
4. Bread for carbohydrates
Finally, fill the last space with a source of carbohydrates. Nutritionists choose multigrain roti. If you eat your food this way, you can control your carbohydrates and you do not consume too much of it.
