Apple announces sixth retail store in India, to launch in Mumbai on February 26
Apple has announced its sixth retail store in India. The new Apple Store will be in Borivali and will open to the public on February 26. This will become the company’s second store in Mumbai.

Apple may not be physically present at the high-profile India AI Impact Summit being held from February 16-20, but it is making its presence felt in the country in another significant way. The iPhone maker has announced its sixth Apple Store, Apple Borivali, and it will open its doors to the public on February 26. This will be its second store in Mumbai after Apple Store BKC.
With the launch of Apple Borivali, Apple will have a total of six offline retail stores in the country. Apple began its retail expansion in India in 2023 by opening two back-to-back stores: one in Mumbai, aka Apple BKC, and the other in New Delhi, aka Apple Saket. Then in 2025, the company expanded its retail presence by launching three more stores: Apple Hebbal in Bengaluru, Apple Koregaon Park in Pune, and Apple Noida in Delhi NCR. Work is also underway on the seventh store.
The seventh store is largely expected to open in Hyderabad. Although not explicitly confirmed by Apple itself, it appears that the company is aggressively hiring for this upcoming store, posting vacancies for roles like store leader and senior manager on its official website. On average, Apple starts recruiting for these positions earlier in the year, so it may take some time for the store to officially open.
Apple’s retail expansion, which includes the upcoming sixth store launch in Borivali, indicates that these stores are bringing in strong returns. These stores, which are seen as cultural hubs where people gather and explore both products and ideas, have exceeded expectations even in India. Apple CEO Tim Cook has also thrown light on this matter. “In retail, we continue to bring a magical experience to our customers around the world, and we were thrilled with our best-ever results in retail during the quarter. We were excited to open our fifth store in India in December and have plans to open another store in Mumbai soon,” Cook said during Apple’s earnings call.
Apple’s premium product lineup, as well as the retail experience, along with initiatives like trade-in programs and promotional offers, are driving sales growth in India. The numbers reflect this speed. “During the December quarter we set a quarterly revenue record, and to drill down a little further, we set a quarterly revenue record on iPhone and Mac and iPad and an all-time revenue record on Services. So, it was a great quarter in India. We really like what we see there,” Cook recently told investors.
