These are 7 new restaurants and bars in Bangalore that you must visit

1. Zarf, Sheraton Grand Bengaluru Whitefield Hotel & Convention Centre

Located in an intimate corner right next to the high-energy bar of the Sheraton Grand, Zarf offers a great setting for both lunch and dinner. Zarf goes beyond the cliché of ‘progressive’ Indian cuisine with a well-researched menu that experiments with cooking styles and also mixes unique ingredients. This is not an explosion of spices, but a menu that explores the roots of Indian cuisine. There is a tilt towards the dishes of the undivided Punjab, but the menu also has room for South Indian signatures. Salmon tikka and bhang chutney are just some of the many surprises on an extensive menu.

2. Oro, Rex Forum Walk

Rex Forum Walk continues to surprise us with new culinary creations, soon becoming one of the most vibrant F&B destinations in the CBD. Ouro means gold in Portuguese and this new, vibrant hotspot reinvents classic European and Mexican dishes with some creative twists. It’s a welcome change from large format restaurants and bars that tend to play it safe with their menus. We’d recommend their Veg Ceviche and their delicious Burnt Chilli Garlic Crab. The custom cocktail program allows you to craft personalised drinks to suit your individual preferences.

3. Bastian Garden City

We’ve seen a lot of movement in the CBD over the past few years, Bastian is one example. This is the third Bastian and the first outside Mumbai and has a charming, boho-chic vibe. We love the pleasantly neutral interiors in shades of beige, white and taupe. The restaurant also has interesting design elements like a high bar and wavy vertical ceiling fans. The menu emphasizes American and Asian-inspired cuisine with Bastian’s successful Mumbai template.

4. BLR Brewing Company, Whitefield

Spread over 65,000 sq ft, BLR Brewing Company’s fourth stint is not only the largest of its outlets but also one of the largest brewpubs in the city. There are many interesting threads connecting this 1200-seater. There is a complete play on nature and a tribute to the lakes of Bengaluru with a stunning koi pond. BLR Brewing also takes inspiration from old Bangalore and places around Bangalore for their cocktail program. Craft beer is one of their biggest highlights.

5. Radio Bar

This is the third Radio Bar in India and its design is inspired by the iconic Mumbai outlet, with its signature radio-inspired theme. The Bengaluru outpost will also provide a platform to grassroots talent and will feature live performances from local musicians. The diverse menu includes everything from Indian to Asian and Radio Bar has a unique twist on Indian street food. The high-energy interior replete with neon lights provides the perfect setting.

6. Eight

Eight is the third outlet of this new restaurant brand and the first in Bengaluru. Located in the bustling Phoenix Mall of Asia, Eight derives its name from the luckiest number in China, where the number eight symbolises strength and prosperity. The restaurant serves Eastern and Oriental flavours with cuisines from Canton, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia and Japan, as well as special dishes from forgotten regions of China. From Robata Grill to Canton Dim Sum, there’s a lot on offer here.

7. Moglu

One of the most interesting, recent additions to the CBD dining scene, Moglu calls itself ‘The Edgy Veggie Restaurant’. It serves vegetables in all their glory and is positioned as a borderless vegetarian restaurant. It is not limited to any particular cuisine but borrows from the best culinary traditions from around the world to create modern plated dishes. This all-day diner also offers an interesting range of zero-proof drinks. Signature dishes include spinach coconut lentil soup, massaged kale, beets and cheese salad and spaghetti tempeh bolognese.
