At the height of their career, many South Indian women stars made a stunning option to leave the film industry, when they were at their peak. Asin, Shalini, Nagma, Gopika and Rambha adopted new avenues in life, proving that success in cinema is just a part of their widespread journey.

The glitz and glamor of the film industry can fascinate many, but for some, the desire to move forward and lead a more personal life leads to the drawing of the screen. From Shalini to Asin, five South Indian female actors, once dear by the audience, decided to retire from the industry at the peak of his career.

A name synonymous with success in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi cinema, Asin Thutumkal, closed the audience with his versatility and attraction. His career was full of large -scale hit films, including Pokkiri and Kavalan in Tamil, Lakshmi Narasimha, Ready, and Ghazini and Housefull 2 in Telugu.
The originally known for its ability to infection between languages and styles, Asin earned several awards, including the Filmfare and Siema Awards. At the peak of his career, he decided to move away from the film industry in 2015 to focus on his personal life after his marriage.

Shalini Ajit Kumar, known as Baby Shalini in her early days, was a major name in Malayalam and Tamil cinema during the 1980s. In films such as Entine Mamattikkuttiyammakku and TV Series Amloo, a child artist became a successful leading woman with a child artist, she became a successful leading woman with classics such as Aniyathipravu, Alaipayuthey, and Neram. After marrying actor Ajit Kumar in 2000, Shalini retired from acting in 2002.

Nagma Arvind Morarji, known only as Nagma, enjoyed a rich career in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Bhojpuri cinema in the 1990s. Along with prestigious films like Kadhalan, Basha, Mettukudi and Chathurangam in Tamil, Gharan Mogudu, Major Chandrakant and Allari Alludu, Nagma were one of the most versatile actors in their era. In 2008, after a rich film career, Nagma took a bold step in politics, who retired from acting to focus on her new political journey.
Gopika

Gopika’s name became synonymous with hearty performance in Malayalam cinema, especially with her remarkable role in 4 The Peepal, which included hit song Lejavathi Ninde Kalla Kadikkanil. He also made his mark in Telugu and Tamil films, including NAA in Autograph, Yuvasena and Autograph. Gopika left the industry after her marriage in 2008.

Vijayalakshmi Yedi, known better than her screen name Rambha, was a major force in many South Indian film industries in the 1990s and early 2000s. With memorable roles in films like Arunachalam, Ulathi Allitha and Chronic Bachelor, Rambha was known for his ability to join the audience in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi films. Some of his remarkable works include Bhairav Island, Bangaru Kutumbam, Hitler, Ganesh and Judwa. After a successful career in the South Indian film industry, Rambha decided to retire from acting in 2011, which turned away from the headlines to focus on his personal life.
