a destructive Fire breaks out in a building housing migrant workers 40 Indian nationals were killed and dozens injured in a bomb blast in southern Kuwait on Wednesday morning. Two persons from Kerala were among the dead.
The family of Umarudheen Shameer in Kollam district received the heartbreaking news that their loved one died in a fire.
Shamir, who had been working as a driver in Kuwait for the past five years, was identified by his relatives living in Kuwait. His family is currently in talks with government officials to bring back his body and complete other formalities.
Shameer last visited Kerala nine months ago during his holidays.
Another Kerala resident, Stephen Abraham Sabu of Pampady in Kottayam, was also among the dead. Sabu, 29, worked as an engineer in Kuwait. His family, including his mother Shirley Sabu and brothers Fabin and Kevin, are mourning his death.
Stephen’s brother Fabian is also in Kuwait.
The building which caught fire was constructed by NBTC, Kuwait’s largest construction group.
