AI is developing at an rapid pace, and Puneet Chandok, president of Microsoft India and South Asia, believes that 2025 will be the year when AI agents actually shine. Speaking at The India Today Conclave, he shared a vision, where AI agents become important partners in our daily life, change how we work, learn and connect with technology. “We are entering the world of modern variety with many large and small language models,” Chandok said, emphasized rapid development in AI abilities. While the tech industry has long rely on Moore’s law, the AI models are now doubled every six months, predicting doubling of performance every two years. This speed, he said, bring three major effects: more intelligence, more sympathy and more agency.
Chandok painted a vivid picture of how AI agents are developing beyond equipment only in intelligent, sympathetic and active assistants. “These are not James Bonds,” he jokingly said. “These are autonomous software systems that understand your references, your objectives, and are working for you.” He shared an individual story about a custom AI agent, which he used, who prepared documents, reviewed the legal segments, and even offered all advice even when he was on a flight. “By the time I landed, I was ready everything. It was an agency in intelligence, sympathy and action, ”he said.

The concept of AI agents is not limited to personal productivity. Chandok also talked about vertical-specific applications, such as AI Kopilots for doctors. “We are creating Copilot for doctors, where the first year doctors can be given the same information, expertise and decision as a 20 -year -old veteran,” he explained. This, they believe, will democratization of expertise and make high quality knowledge accessible to all.
According to Chandok, one of the most immediate and tangible benefits of AI agents is freedom from worldly works. “Two-thirds of my email, I don’t type any more,” he revealed. “My inbox is full of hundreds of emails, and my AI assistant told me priority, important people and immediate people. “It is taking drugs out of my work and bringing back happiness.” They estimate that AI devices save her at least 30 minutes every day, promoting a productivity that can be transformative on a scale.
Nitin Mittal, Principal of Deloite Global, echoed Chandok’s optimism, insisted on making abundance to emphasize AI’s ability. In fact, “the case of every use where you need abundance, can distribute AI,” Mittal said. She gave the example of healthcare, where AI-operated digital nurses can reach thousands of patients, ensure treatment protocols and improve results. He said, “This is about creating an abundant workforce that can scale to meet the needs of the society.”
In fact, sharing a positive attitude on the relationship between AI and jobs, Mittal says “AI is actually increasing our workforce”. He says that with AI, his employees are able to do more work, which means they are able to distribute better and more efficiently, which in turn leads to more customers, and eventually, more people are being added to the workforce.
While the promise of AI agents is very immense, both Chandok and Mittal accepted the challenges, especially around the need for displacement and revival of the job. “When we are not changing the job, our jobs are changing on us,” Chandok said. “Today the skills required for the same job have changed 25 percent in the last few years.” He urged individuals and organizations that they will not lose your job, but you will not lose your job, but you can use AI well AI. “
