The scale behind SS Rajamouli’s upcoming film Varanasi This was once again underlined when the makers released a behind-the-scenes video documenting the making of the film’s grand launch event. The video takes a detailed look at the effort and planning behind what has been described as one of the biggest film-related events in recent years.

The behind-the-scenes video shows the 20 days of on-the-ground preparation for the event. The footage highlights the massive construction work, inspired by the specially designed set Varanasi Elaborate security arrangements for the ghats, extensive LED installations and spectators. According to visuals, more than 1,000 crew members were involved in executing the event, which culminated in a tightly choreographed audio launch-style presentation.

The video also includes rehearsals by the lead cast, including Mahesh Babu practicing his dramatic mechanical bull entry, as well as Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran preparing for their stage performance. Glimpses of the dance rehearsals, technical process and coordination meetings led by Rajamouli give an insight into how the spectacle was put together piece by piece.
