According to fitness coach Ralston D’Souza, “Cheese provides more protein per calorie with less carbohydrates and fat. Plus, cheese is also a complete protein.” This gives it an edge over peanut butter. Plus, cheese has fewer calories than peanut butter. Ralston revealed that 1 slice of cheese has about 60 calories, while 1 tablespoon of peanut butter has about 95 calories. He further explains that it is easier to practice portion control when eating a slice of cheese than when eating peanut butter. It can be difficult to measure out a teaspoon of peanut butter, and you may end up consuming more. This may lead to excess calorie consumption and defeat the purpose of increasing protein intake.
