West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressed concern for Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who allegedly faced muscle injuries, filming her upcoming project ‘King’. In a hearty post, Banerjee referred to the actor as his “brother” and wished him a quick recovery.

Sources told India Today that the injury is not serious and the actor is recovering well. However, this incident has affected the production program, now it is expected to resume in September with filming.

After the injury, SRK traveled to the United States and has since moved to the UK, where he has been recurring with his family. A planned journey to Sri Lanka has been postponed to prioritize their recovery and welfare.

This is not the first time West Bengal CM has shown public affection for SRK. The actor has served as the brand ambassador of West Bengal and is a consecutive guest at the state’s annual Kolkata International Film Festival. Veteran filmmaker Chandra Barot, who strengthened his legacy with the 1978 creed classic ‘Don’, starring Amitabh Bachchan, died in Mumbai on Sunday. He was 86 years old.

His wife, Deepa Barot, confirmed that the director was suffering from pulmonary fibrosis for the last seven years. He was undergoing treatment at Guru Nanak Hospital and was earlier admitted to Jaslok Hospital, where doctors tried several remedies to manage his condition. Age -related complications worsened his health.

Although ‘Don’ was his first feature, it left an external mark on Hindi cinema. While there was a modest run on release in the film, it soon snowed in a cultural event – to define the stylized crime -thriller style in Bollywood and set up a platform for future adaptation.
