Barring Azaad, De De Pyaar De 2 is Ajay Devgan’s third release this year, after Raid 2 and Son of Sardar 2, as it featured the actor in an extended cameo role. Interestingly, all three were sequels to hit films released before the pandemic. Here is the day-wise box office comparison of the opening weekend between Raid 2, Son of Sardar 2 and De De Pyar De 2.
Among the three titles, Raid 2 is the only film that got a solid start. The film started its journey at the box office with Rs 20 crores. 19 crores, and its first three days ended at Rs. Earning Rs 49.25 crore at the Indian box office. On the other hand, Son of Sardaar 2 took an opening of just Rs 20 lakh. 7.25 crore and its opening weekend was Rs. But ended. Earned ₹24.75 crore, registering a 50 percent decline from Raid 2’s figures.
The latest outing, DDPD 2, could open at Rs. 8.25 crore, which is better than SOS 2 but much less than the Rajkumar Gupta directorial. The first weekend of De De Pyaar De 2 was Rs. But it’s over. 33 crores, which lagged behind Raid 2.
As per current trends, De De Pyaar De 2 is headed towards an unfavorable end, although it will perform better than Son of Sardar 2; However, there is little or no chance of it reaching Rs. 100 crore figure. If the film doesn’t surprise in the coming days, Ajay Devgan will end 2025 with only one clean hit, which is Raid 2.
