Deal: OnePlus 15R now available, Vivo X300 Pro bundled with free imaging grip

The prices of some newly introduced models are falling quite rapidly, but the new entrants have to struggle with the older models, which have also become quite cheap.

The OnePlus 15R appears as “coming soon” on Amazon, though it should switch to “available” soon. This year’s R-model brings a larger battery – 7,400 mAh vs. 6,000 mAh on the 13R – with better water resistance (IP68/IP69K vs. IP65). This also includes the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 (non-Elite) over the two-year-old Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

However, there have been some downgrades. First of all, the telephoto camera is gone, while the main camera (50MP 1/1.56″, OIS) and ultra-wide camera (8MP) remain the same. Additionally, the 6.83″ display may run at a higher refresh rate (165Hz vs 120Hz), but it’s not an LTPO panel like the older model. On the plus side, you get a €100 free storage upgrade (both 256GB and 512GB phones sell for €700 right now).

When looking at the 15R, we also need to consider the flagship OnePlus 15. It has some downgrades of its own compared to 13. However, it’s only €200 more than the 15R, so let’s compare it to that (there’s a small discount of €50 on it).

It has an LTPO display and a proper Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, as well as the same big 7,300mAh battery with both 80W wired and 50W wireless charging. And it has a 50MP 3.5x/80mm periscope on board.

Of course, with your €700 you can buy a Xiaomi 15T Pro instead. It uses the Dimensity 9400+ chipset (versus the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5) and a similar display – a 6.83” panel with 12-bit colors and a 144Hz refresh rate (it’s also not an LTPO panel).

The 15T Pro has a better camera setup with a larger 50MP main sensor (1/1.31″ vs 1/1.56″), a dedicated 50MP 5x/115mm periscope (vs none) and a 12MP ultra-wide (vs 8MP). The Xiaomi phone has a smaller battery, however, 5,500mAh vs 7,400mAh (90W wired and 50W wireless charging vs 80W wired).

A few months ago, we tested the Vivo X300 Pro photography kit. This is great, but unfortunately, it’s only available in China right now. However, PGYTECH has an alternative kit that costs €200. Amazon will give you this kit for free if you buy the Vivo X300 Pro – and that’s on top of a €100 voucher. The Pro is one of the best camera phones at the moment, check out our video review for details.

Well, it didn’t take long – the Motorola Edge 70 was priced at €720 just last week. You can get one now for €525. Powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, this phone has a slim build (6mm thick, weighs 159g), which leaves little room for battery – the 4,800mAh cell still achieved a 13:36h active usage score, which is pretty average. At least you get fast wired (68W) and wireless charging (15W). There is a 6.7” 10-bit 120Hz OLED display on the front and a 50+50MP camera (1/1.56” main plus 120° ultra-wide) on the back.

You can buy Poco F8 Pro for this much money. It has a 2.5x/60mm telephoto camera with a 50MP sensor, a 50MP main (1/1.55″) and an 8MP ultra-wide. And it’s not that thin or light (8mm, 199g), giving it a big 6,210mAh battery (17:35h active usage score) with 100W wired-only charging.
